#175 Arnstadt Porcelain Air-brushed Man's Shoe

Porcelain variegated green man’s 4-eyelet cap toe, low-cut shoe. The shoe is airbrushed in shades from dark green to light olive green, and clear over-glazing occurs on all surfaces, inside and out except where glaze was wiped from the walking surface to eliminate adhesion to the kiln floor. The shoe has embossed “stitch” lines and impressed “leather tooled” design. It was made in the early 1900s by the German Mardorf & Bandorf Porcelain Factory in Arnstadt, Germany. The factory made both right and left foot molds, this being a left, and the shoe was typically given a lace. This shoe had none, so I have added an antique mercerized high grade shoe lace. I acquired this shoe about 11 years ago from an Ohio eBayer. See Wojtkowski text pg. 165L2.2 for further details. Size is 5.1 x 2.1”; 3.2 oz. Condition report: Undamaged, very good condition.
